Field Visit on Social Awareness to SWaCH

The 1^st year and 2^nd year B.Ed students of S.N.D.T. College of Education, Pune visited to “SWaCH” organization on 09.01.2019.

Mr. Ravi Kumar, the Coordinator of the organization shared the information about the recycling of waste and how the organization works in the field. He discussed about the working environment of garbage collectors and how the garbage is collected and segregated. The garbage collectors get the wedges from door to door collection and don’t have a fixed salary. The organisation ‘SWaCH’ is working on a 5 year contract with PMC and PCMC. They are running the ‘Red dot’ campaign regarding the sanitary waste and they arrange various awareness campaigns in the city. The students discussed that the worker should get fixed salary, health insurance and good guards. We should take steps forward for creating more awareness around us.
